Review Chapter 12, and discuss this problem. Access to health care can be viewed as similar to access to other goods and services–that is, as dependent on an individual′s success in gaining or inheriting income, or as a right of citizenship that should not depend on individual income or wealth. So healthcare access should depend on people′s need or people′s ability to pay? Debate the relative merits of there two positions. Use evidence from Chapter 12 and other resources. Someone asks you to describe what “organizational culture” really means and what the components of organizational culture are. How would you respond? You are appointed the manager of a primary care clinic. You notice the culture is interfering with the success of the clinic. What strategies would you implement to change the culture? And how do you think about other classmates′ strategies?
